Mechanical Workshop Operative Job Profile
Controlled Environments Company (CEC) is a single source supplier and solutions provider to customers operating in critically clean and controlled environments. We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Workshop Operative, to work at our Leixlip location.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the assembly and fabrication of mechanical components, systems, and machinery.
- Use tools and machinery to manufacture parts and components.
- Measure and check dimensions of parts to ensure accuracy and conformity to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair faults or malfunctions in mechanical systems, ensuring timely and efficient repairs.
- Conduct tests and inspections to identify mechanical issues.
- Operate various mechanical equipment and machinery, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ensure that machines are properly calibrated and maintained.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Ensure all equipment is used according to safety guidelines and regulations.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating machinery or handling hazardous materials.
- Assist in the management of parts and tools inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of parts used, repairs completed, and equipment maintenance schedules.
- Perform quality control checks on finished products or repairs.
- Ensure that work is completed in line with specifications, and industry /client standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery such as Lathes, Milling Machines, CNC Routers.
- Knowledge of mechanical principles.
- Previous experience working in a mechanical workshop environment is advantageous.
- Experience with CNC machinery, welding, or specialized mechanical systems
- Experience with CAD/CAM is advantageous.
- An apprenticeship or vocational qualification and or relevant experience in mechanical engineering or a related field is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- The role typically involves working in a workshop or factory environment.
